Bonnacon
This guy must be a villain in the next FromSoft game or the main character of a very brave indie title. The Bonnacon of medieval Europe shoots burning excrement from his mythological crook. Lots of gameplay apps, lots of gruesome cinematic possibilities.
Nuckelavee
A skinless abomination, the nuckelavee is the legless torso of a man fused onto the back of a horse. The arms of the torso are long enough to drag on the ground and his head falls from his neck. The horse’s mouth exhales poisonous fumes. The ancient Scots were terrified of this creature which, for some horrifying reason, comes from the sea. In fact, it might be too scary to pass the league tables…
Hecatoncheires
The Hecatoncheires were so ugly that Uranus tried to push them back into Gaia’s womb when they were born. He failed, which is no wonder. You’re trying to force something with a hundred arms and fifty heads back into a cramped space. They couldn’t be that bad, Poseidon let one of them marry his daughter. It could be great as a boss battle or a misunderstood friend.
Mimick Dogs
These specialty dog breeds are truly spiraling out of control. The Getulian Hound, also known as the Mimick Hound, was actually featured in a scholarly text from the 1600s. It was a monstrous, hairy dog, believed to have originated from an ape. See the article : Letter: Strengthening storage | Fractious Cupertino | Same politics | Independence of power | Video games. They had faces like hedgehogs and could understand humans, dance to music, and even perform in plays. It might not sound scary, but a baby hedgehog-faced monkey freaks me out. Actually… wasn’t this guy in Elden Ring?
Ahuizotl
Oh well, another horrible water demon. This Aztec legend lured its victims to death. Covered in thorns, with monkey legs and a functional hand on its long tail. On the same subject : WPLG Launches New Outdoor Lifestyle Show, ‘SoFlo H2O’. It was chums with the water gods and when it dragged its prey into the depths it ate only the fingernails, eyes and teeth, leaving the rest of the body untouched. Everyone loves a good old fashioned water level with custom enemies.
Manananggal
Romanian vampires are scary enough, but this myth from the Philippines takes it to another level. Usually depicted as a woman with massive bat wings, this evil spirit could split itself in two, while the top flew at night. This may interest you : Glenwood Springs art area and entertainment area. What did they do in the dark? Oh no big deal, I just used a hollow tongue to suck out the hearts of the fetuses. It’s right up the aisle of CD Projekt Red.
