Without enforcement, water savings unlikely
Re. “Water conservation still missing target,” Page A1, July 9: This may interest you : Texas Tribune Executive Director Evan Smith discusses El Paso politics.
It will be difficult to get people to conserve water without any consequences.
We have heard fines for several months, and yet until the matter starts hitting people’s bank accounts, they will not take any action. The San Jose Water Company has no plans to hire “water cops,” and although they have a site on their website (https://www.sjwater.com/) to report water waste, no action they do not take when reported. .
There must be implementation and recovery of water loss if we are to address this issue.
Fractious Council costing Cupertino leaders
I interestingly read Grace Hase’s article about the resigned city manager of Cupertino (“Cupertino loses another city manager,” page B1, July 5), but why is it important for Cupertino residents? This may interest you : The final guide to What’s on Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon, and More by July 2022..
Since the Better Cupertino team took over Cupertino, we have lost six city managers, a city attorney, our directors for Public Works, Agriculture and Recreation, Planning and Finance. The Better Cupertino team also managed to distance themselves from our disadvantages.
After a good relationship with staff and the Council and charities we found amazing new services for residents: a new library, community hall, lobby, youth center, Ali Mill Plaza, trail in Blackberry Garden, Sterling-Barnhart parking , Vallco Theaters, West Valley Service Community’s Vista Village, Don Burnett Pedestrian Bridge over Interstate 280, Juniper Hotel, and Main Street.
We need to get back to the days of collaboration between the Council, city staff, nonprofits and our residents, and get back to serving our community.

With Chavez, you’ll get same old politics
Led by District 2 Cindy Chavez, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors removed the Eastridge Little League from July 18, the 50th anniversary of their relocation from Reid Hillview Stadium to a leadership issue, according to their own. On the same subject : Best Netflix Movies & Shows: What’s Trending On July 6, 2022. education in the district, does not mean the risk of bullets.
At the same time, the committee requested that the activist group, Latinos United in A New America, which shares Chavez’s goal of closing the stadium, be given $ 412,000 to “educate” residents on a 1.5-mile search for a non-existent problem.
Instead of creating a shameful neighborhood panic at the expense of taxpayers, Chavez and the commission would better serve their members by working on real problems such as homelessness or water safety legislation. As a candidate for mayor of San Jose, Chavez is proud of her nearly 20 years of political experience. Is it really years of political experience or just one year more than 20 times? San Jose and the district deserve better politics than usual.

Biden, Lofgren sacrifice energy independence
Recently President Biden announced that he would halve the Strategic Fuel Storage to appease drivers who are shocked by high gas prices.
I recorded at that time that it was a terrible mistake that threatened our national security. But that is the beginning of panic. On July 5, Reuters reported that more than five million barrels of discharge had been exported to China and Italy. China is very happy to increase its energy security while Biden is providing security to the United States.
However, in November here in District 18, we have a chance to start moving in the right direction; We can replace Zoe Lofgren with Peter Hernandez. Lofgren was Biden’s reliable ability to dismantle our energy independence. The votes received by the Progressive Cluster HR 455 gave Biden a stable place to carry out this destruction.
Video games are glamorizing violence
Re. “What’s wrong with American men?” Page A9, July 10:
I can answer the question “What is wrong with American men?” which Leonard Pitts Jr. asked in his article of the same name. The answers are: “Mortal Kombat” (1992), “Grand Theft Auto” (1997), “Post” (2003), “Call of Duty” (2003), “Manhunt” (2003), “Bulletstorm” (2011) and many others.
We have been quietly feeding our men (and women) with an interest in killing humans for almost 30 years. I refused to sell violent video games to my children, but they did enjoy it anyway – their friend’s house. Rating (M) or Adult (A) does not mean when there is an older sibling or parent buying. Children will find and share.
Some adults are unaware of the psychological impact these games have on children’s developing brains.
