We recently wrote about video games to play while you wait for the next episode of Dragon House or “Hot D” as everyone should just call it. But this prompted a thoughtful comment from one of our readers: what if I didn’t give a sh*t about the show? It’s a valid question. It’s hard to pay attention to anything these days, much less a show with some of the worst wigs on TV. But we’ve got to do something to fill the remaining hours until we’re freed from this mortal corpse, so we might as well play some dang video games. So here are our suggestions for what to play based on what you don’t care about.
5 You don’t care about… some stupid fantasy realm
The Last of Us is set in a struggling America and the realism of both its graphics and its tragic character development will make you realize that sure, there are demons in this game but the monsters are lame.
4 You don’t care about… big budget graphics
Art can be a great way to hide a bad game or bad news. With Nidhogg, the designs are stylish, must be minimal. It is a fighting game that is considered one of the best of all time. No need to spend ten million dollars on CGI combat when the gameplay is addictive.
3 You don’t care about… violence
Why can’t we be together? Well, you can help heal the city (with a little bloodshed) in the Permit Potion. This game dropped on September 22nd and made our list of must-have games of the month. It’s the exact opposite of a show about killing and surprisingly old-timey doctor nonsense.
2 You don’t care about… lofty lords and ladies
You’re a dark kid who probably never entered Disco Elysium. This action-packed, action-packed story delves into the mind of a police officer, whether it’s a story of redemption or a case of madness is up to you. 1 You don’t care about…any of this nerd crap
