Ubisoft’s free-to-play sports title Roller Champions will wrap up development soon, just months after launch, it is claimed.
Speaking on the Xbox Era Podcast, Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb claimed that “Roller Champions is going to be canceled after Season 3”, reading a message from a source.
VGC has asked Ubisoft for comment.

The game received several seasons of content after launch, and according to Ubisoft’s recent financial appeal, it tracks better than Hyper Scape, Ubisoft’s now canceled battle royale. See the article : The British government’s comments on lootboxes in video games.
However, this would not have translated into great popularity. As of this writing, less than 100 people are watching the match on Twitch.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Hyper Scape was a 100-player free-to-play FPS Battle Royale set in a futuristic urban environment called Neo-Arcadia.
The game launched as an open beta in July 2020. However, just a year after its release, Ubisoft had stopped releasing major updates for the game.
During an earnings call on Thursday, Ubisoft confirmed it had canceled Ghost Recon Frontline, Splinter Cell VR, and two unannounced games.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has also been delayed. Previously slated to be released in the 2022 calendar, it will now arrive during the company’s fiscal year beginning in April 2023.
