The Amazon Prime Video streaming service recently received a visual refresh that completely changes the app’s user interface and platform experience for subscribers. The new Prime Video app also brings changes that make it easier for users to find and watch new content.
The new design will begin rolling out to Amazon Prime Video users this week and will affect the What’s New in Prime Video’s new redesigned layout.
New navigation menu
The update brings a new Netflix-like sidebar navigation menu that appears on the left side of the screen. The simplified menu has buttons like Find, Home, Store and Live TV. Amazon suggests this will make it easier for users to quickly find new content.
Menu items here will also contain corresponding sub-menu sections, such as Movies and TV Shows under Home or Channels and Rentals under Store. See the article : The 10 best Prime Video music docs for when you need a haircut.
New Store section with more content
Prime Video users can now rent new movies and check pay-per-view channels with additional subscriptions directly from the dedicated Store tab. The Store tab will offer many movies, including Bollywood and international blockbusters, that are not included in the standard Prime Video membership.
New Find page
The new Find section gives users an easier search experience by allowing them to search by specific titles and different genres. On the same subject : Video games don’t always need live-action adaptations. Search suggestions will update in real time as users type, and results can now be filtered.

Dedicated section for Live TV
The Live TV section in the navigation menu is now a one-stop shop for all broadcast/streaming sources. Read also : Most Men Value Playing Video Games, Drinking Over Good Sleep. Along with its own program guide, the Live TV section includes live content with a timeline view that allows users to find out when future programs will start.
New carousels
The redesign includes new categorized carousels that help users reach the movie or show they want to watch more quickly. Carousels are also dynamic and will change based on what other users in the same country are watching and suggest new, possibly more relevant content.
Visual indicators for content-type
Amazon uses visual cues to help users distinguish between content that is included with their existing membership and other content that they may need to rent separately. Content, including movies and shows that are directly accessible, will be displayed with a blue tick, while content that users will have to pay extra for will be marked with a gold shopping bag icon.
Immersive visuals
Content thumbnails are now displayed with rich visuals that look much better and attractive compared to the smaller tiles we saw before. Amazon also mentions a new background color palette and “thoughtful details” with each movie/show you select.
