LOS ANGELES: Amazon has released the first trailer of the highly anticipated series “The Lord of the Rings: The Lord of the Rings” and promises to transport viewers to JRR Tolkien’s fictional world of Middle Earth.
Set around the second year of Middle Earth’s history, when Sauron created the ring, the first trailer for the show was unveiled at a presentation event during San Diego Comic-Con on Friday.
The series, which is set to be released on Prime in September, will bring back popular characters such as Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and High King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker).

The three-minute clip teases all the major races in the show, including Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, and Men, and introduces Clark’s younger Galadriel. It also includes the first look at actor Anson Boon’s Sauron, the main antagonist of Tolkien’s book series, and the terrifying creature the Balrog.

The Comic-Con premiere was attended by showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay and 21 members of the cast, including Clark, Aramayo, Walker, Daniel Weyman, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry and Nazanin Boniadi.
The official synopsis of the series reveals that “The Ring of Power” follows a diverse cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they face the threat of the reemergence of evil to Middle Earth.
“From the deepest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the vast forests of Lindon’s capital city, to the enchanting island of Numenor, to the edge of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out a legacy that lives long after they are gone,” in hear it.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will premiere on Prime Video in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, on September 2, with new episodes dropping weekly.
