Nick Patti took over at quarterback with Kedon Slovis on the sidelines to start the second half.
PITTSBURGH — Kedon Slovis took a bad sack on the last play of the first half for the Pitt Panthers and it looked like his afternoon was over early. He is not expected to return after suffering an undisclosed injury.
Slovis was not seen on the sidelines when the Panthers opened the second half against the Tennessee Volunteers. Nick Patti was under center for Pitt, who got the ball to start the third quarter.
Patti battled to start with Slovis throughout spring and fall training camp before losing the competition.
Redshirt freshman Nate Yarnell is now the backup.
