The Pitt Panthers got some key starters back this week.

PITTSBURGH — The Pitt Panthers are slowly but surely getting back together after suffering injuries to multiple starters through the first four weeks of the season. As they prepared for the ACC opener against Georgia Tech, five Pitt starters who had missed time were back in uniform and warming up.

Cornerback Marquis Williams, defensive tackle Devin Danielson, defensive end Habakkuk Baldonado, wide receiver Jared Wayne, defensive end Deslin Alexandre and tight end Gavin Bartholomew, all of whom missed all or part of the Panthers’ Week 4 game against Rhode Island. All but Danielson were announced as part of the starting lineup before kickoff.

Bartholomew left in the first round after suffering an apparent arm injury. He reappeared on the sidelines later with his arm in a sling.

Baldonado and Williams dressed but did not play against Rhode Island. Their injuries are undisclosed.

Alexandre had left the second quarter of the West Virginia game with a wrist injury.

Wayne has missed the last six legs with an upper body injury. He and Williams both did not play in the second half of the Western Michigan game.

Devin Danielson went down with an injury in the Tennessee game and has not been dressed for the past two weeks. He is listed as a co-starter with David Green on the depth chart.
