The Pitt Panthers came out of Week 2 badly beaten.

PITTSBURGH — Head Coach Pat Narduzzi rarely, if ever, provides insight into the injuries hampering his Pitt Panthers, but he did hint at the status of one of his many stars who was injured in his Week 2 game against Tennessee.

Starting quarterback Kedon Slovis took a hit late in the first half and was replaced by Nick Patti as the Panthers took the field to start the second half. Narduzzi was asked about Slovis’s condition after the game.

“I’m not going to reveal the injuries and what happened, what we got,” Narduzzi said. “But I saw Kedon there and he feels good.”

Later in the fourth quarter, Patti himself suffered an ankle injury. For the rest of the game, Patti limped down the field, trying to keep the Panthers’ heads above water. It was clear she was in a lot of pain, but Narduzzi said she never considered taking Patti out.

“She didn’t come close [to seating Patti].” Narduzzi said. “Nick is a fighter. He’s a tough guy. He made some great shots. Nick played well.”
