Paolo Banchero followed up an impressive display in the Magic’s Summer League debut on Thursday with another standout effort in a wild victory over the Kings on Saturday.
In a showdown full of twists, Banchero, the first overall pick in last month’s draft, overcame turnover issues and made key plays at critical moments to lead Orlando to a 94-92 sudden-death, two-overtime victory for Sacramento. Queta’s basket reduced the score to 87-84 and helped send the game into its first OT as a precursor to Murray’s three-pointer on a field pass stolen from Banchero when time expired.
“You shouldn’t hit that three-ball,” Banchero said, prompting Queta to reply, “You don’t know me, bro. You don’t know that.”
