There’s only one TV show that hits Gizmodo Australia’s sneak peek, but there’s a couple of movies coming to Prime Video this month, so to make things a little easier, we’ve narrowed the list down to five new releases to sink your teeth into.

What should I watch on Prime Video?

Here are five TV shows and movies we think you should watch on Prime Video, in order of release in Australia.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby – August 1

This NASCAR-themed comedy (created by Ferrell and his Anchorman co-star Adam McKay) boasts a fairly tight plot, going in the opposite direction of the films of its time. Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby sees Ferrell play a dim but fearless all-American race car driver whose confidence is shaken when a gay Frenchman (Sacha Baron Cohen) dominates him at the circuit. With Ferrell working back with the help of his late father, Gary Cole, Talladega Nights becomes more or less a straight-up sports movie that hits all the right chords.

The Great Gatsby – August 3

New to Prime Video this month is The Great Gatsby. Baz Luhrmann’s visually dazzling (albeit divisive) adaptation of F. If you’re not familiar, writer and bricklayer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) finds himself drawn to his millionaire neighbor Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). It’s the glamorous (and wealthy) life of the 1920s, not exactly synonymous with the American dream.

The Outlaws (season 2) – August 5

Outlaws is a comedy thriller about a variety of outlaws who are brought together to serve a community service sentence. A few months after the end of the first season, the Outlaws still have time to serve out their sentences in the second season, but they quickly realize that the criminal underworld is not finished with them.

Samaritan – August 26

Sylvester Stallone’s new superhero movie Samaritan is a bit of a mystery, but we think you should add it to your Prime Video binge list this month. It was originally slated for a 2020 release, but was pushed back several years due to various studio purchases. Focusing on an anti-hero story similar to Will Smith’s Hancock, the Samaritan take on what happens to superheroes once they’re past their prime is considered. We finally got a trailer last week, so we know a little more.

Uncharted – August 27

Uncharted is one of those video game franchises that will captivate you endlessly, but the movie adaptation disappointed Nathan Drake fans. The movie gets a few things right, but it gets a lot wrong. This was Uncharted’s chance to enter a completely different entertainment space. It was still somewhat entertaining, and while we don’t recommend you go see it, you’re new to the franchise, or you enjoyed it and aren’t sure what’s up with it. hate, it will debut on Prime Video later this month.
