Fae & Phantom, Wayne
WHAT YOU’LL FIND THERE: This is a unique fusion space offering salon services and a boutique selling vintage clothing with an added twist of punk, goth, pinup and boho styles. The corner store in the township’s Mountainview section expects to open in late August once it receives approval from the state Board of Cosmetology. “We strive to be a safe and comfortable environment for people of all genders and ages to feel the absolute best they could about themselves with the many services we have to offer,” said the owners. “We want to help reduce the waste of the fashion industry by curating the cool old pieces that have been forgotten and finding them new loving homes.”

WHAT YOU’LL FIND THERE: Take a trip down memory lane and back to your childhood in this store. It has Nintendo Switch games, Game Boy video games, Nintendo 64 games and much more. ElectricTown also has early PlayStation and XBox 360 games. The store buys and sells (and trades) these new and vintage game collections. Some are in their original factory packaging. WHAT YOU’LL FIND THERE: Matcha! Lots of matcha goodies, including matcha shaved ice, soft serve, latte and other drinks. The shop will also sell hojicha, a spicy tea. Matcha Cafe Maiko opened its first store in Hawaii. It has 20 stores nationwide, but the Fort Lee one will be the first in New Jersey. Products are shipped from Uji, Japan, and the matcha comes directly from the Harima Garden which started operating in 1858. Bubbakoo’s Burritos, Mahwah
WHERE: 1-21 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah
WHAT YOU’LL FIND THERE: As in all other locations, you can design your own burrito, enchilada or bowl. It works like the typical fast casual restaurant: Choose your entrée option, chicken, fish, meat or vegetarian, and toppings like lettuce, beans and tomatoes.
