The new Newzoo report estimates that mobile games will make up $103.5 billion of the year’s total revenue
A new report from Newzoo today says that the global video game market is projected to earn $197 billion in revenue by the year 2022. On the same subject : Sports Illustrated sets out “reasonable expectations” for Trevor Lawrence.
The market intelligence firm says the figure represents a 2.1% year-on-year increase.
Newzoo attributes mobile gaming spending as the main driver of 2022’s total worldwide consumer spending.
Mobile titles are expected to earn $103.5 billion and account for 53% of the global gaming market.
Revenue from console games is forecast to reach $53 billion this year and account for 27% of this year’s worldwide revenue.
The PC gaming market is estimated to collect $40.4 million and will account for 21% of global video game spending.
In terms of regional revenue during 2022, the North American gaming market is about to reach $51.3 billion and Europe is expected to earn $34.1 billion.
Africa and the Middle East are estimated to collect $7.1 billion in spending this year, while Latin America is predicted to reach $8.7 billion.
Looking Ahead Newzoo estimates that by 2025 the global video game market will generate $225.7 billion in revenue.
