PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) — The Pitt County health department is looking for people who want to participate in a lifestyle program that can help improve heart health.
The program, which is a 10-month Med-South diet and exercise program, is available to people ages 18 to 80 who are interested in improving eating habits and increasing physical activity.
Participants will be asked to complete four monthly visits with a health advisor (two in person and two by telephone), three telephone check-ins and two brief telephone check-ins during the last six months.
These participants earn a total of $120 by participating ($40 at the start, another $40 after four months, and the final $40 on the last visit). They also receive a personal program booklet and cookbook.
We were told that the project is being funded by the CDC.
For more information about the program, call 252-902-2388.
