CARTHAGE, New York (WWNY) – From rock, down, and jazz music can be heard all over Carthage this weekend.
It was for the village’s 5th annual Music Festival in Long Falls Park.
The groups come from all over New York State. Some traveled from Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, and even Australia.
Musicians exchange various messages of truth, such as respect, abuse, and suicide prevention.
The pastor of the First Baptist Church in Carthage said that this was the main goal of the music festival.
“Here is everything we can be interested in. Everything we focus on is so important in our lives that we become slaves in it, we become slaves in it. So, that’s a big part of it. Bands and speakers can reach people I can’t. That other pastors here can’t, “said Pastor Jon Erik Svereika.
Admission is free, but people drop off supplies for Carthage’s Ecumenical Village Food.
