The Lawrence Center for the Arts has selected a printmaker and ceramicist as its artists-in-residence for 2022-23, the center announced Friday.

Taro Takizawa is a Japanese artist who “explores the intersection of Western and Eastern aesthetics through prints, vinyl wall installations, drawings, and 2D designs,” according to the announcement.

Twiggy Boden, “Midwest-born hybrid ceramic artist, examines gender constructs through art and wearable art,” announced.

The year-round residency program at the Art Center, 940 New Hampshire St., is meant to provide a supportive environment where artists can develop their craft. Artists will also lend their expertise to the center’s classrooms and stimulate meaningful conversation about contemporary art in our community.

On August 25, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., the public can meet the artists and see their current works, in addition to learning more about the Art Center’s fall classroom education team.
