During THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase event, it shows footage of the upcoming AEW Fight Forever that highlights its many game types.

For several decades, the WWE has been the dominant face of wrestling video games, with annual titles being rolled out. One of the first video games based on one of its competing programs will have its own game, known as AEW Fight Forever. It is also being developed by the same studio as the games developed by the previous WWE, Yuke’s, who were responsible for the Smackdown vs. RAW games and the WWE numbered titles until WWE 2K20. This is the first attempt to create a non-mobile game for All Elite Wrestling, with a series of superstars from its roster such as CM Punk, Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley.

Earlier this month, Yuke showed off a teaser trailer for AEW Fight Forever, which revealed a number of aspects that fans can expect. This includes the box art, which features some of the aforementioned A-Listers on its cover. It also showed off some gameplay, highlighting the variety of match types and customization options that fans are familiar with. This includes a number of Pokemon Stadium-style mini-games, which were also given a spotlight in a trailer during THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase.

The trailer begins with Tony Schiavone, a commentator for AEW, meeting with a wrestler on the roster named Dr. Britt Baker or D.M.D. for short After D.M.D. encourage the commentator to sit with a controller, show a match between her and Adam Cole. The trailer shows that one of his moves is the stomp, with him demonstrating a submission maneuver to his opponent as well.

Schiavone then asks if there are any weapons available in AEW Fight Forever, to which D.M.D. helpfully provides gameplay clips of her using an arsenal of items to smack Cole around. This includes chairs, fire extinguishers, trash cans, and a baseball bat being some of the options. In addition to this, some clips of the game’s career mode were also shown, which features a variety of mini-games. This includes a rhythm game like the mode between four wrestlers, a baseball house mode, and even a mini-game where poker chips rain from the sky that players need to collect. The trailer ends with the match between Schiavone and D.M.D. seeing the latter win.

The release date of the game was not specified in this trailer, but it highlights the platforms that AEW Fight Forever will come to like the Nintendo Switch. Many fans praised the trailer, with the arcade-like gameplay and mini-games being a big plus, and some elements that games related to WWE currently do not have.

AEW Fight Forever is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
