Horror games are widely known for their atmospheres, disturbing visuals, and terrifying enemies, but sometimes those factors don’t work together very well. While the enemies that appear in various horror games are mostly meant to scare and disturb the player, some designs of enemies are silly rather than scary.

You might think this is limited to less popular horror games, but even some of the most popular series have enemies that players have a hard time taking seriously; although some of these creatures are much more foolish than others because of their appearance, what they do or a combination.

8 Whopper – Resident Evil 6

Big zombies are nothing new in the zombie horror video game genre, but the Whopper and Whopper Supreme are the most disappointing of them. While Left 4 Dead’s similarly shaped Boomers explode and Resident Evil 5’s Gatling Majini have at least one gatling gun, Whoppers and Whopper Supremes are just big, durable, and strong, with no extra abilities. They are also largely slow due to their weak legs, but can use short bursts of speed to attack the player.

Seemingly named after a fast-food chain’s signature burger doesn’t help their case either. Read also : The best Prime Day 2022 video game deals: PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and more.

7 Ricardo Irving – Resident Evil 5

7 Ricardo Irving - Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 5’s Irving looks a little unnerving after injecting himself with the ouroboros virus. Still, he looks a bit too much like the monkfish monster from the movie Spongebob Squarepants.

What makes him even crazier is that the top half of his body remains intact after transforming, so he talks while the player fights him and just won’t shut up. Fortunately, this stops later in the fight, so it’s easier to focus on the fight. Read also : 2022 MLB Home Run Derby: Selecting the appropriate eight slugger field for Dodger Stadium display. Sure, Irving’s final form is a bit scarier, especially for those who are afraid of the ocean and giant mollusks, but at that point it’s hard to forget the chatterbox he was before he completely mutated.

6 Name – The House Of The Dead

6 Name - The House Of The Dead

This enemy only appears briefly in the first The House of the Dead game and its remake, never to reappear. Names are slugs infected with the Curien virus that can be killed in one go. See the article : Valve’s fake games actually look great. Unlike your typical garden snail, Name can jump and bite, but in the end they are still just snails.

The Curien virus-infected spiders and worms that also die in one fell swoop, known as Tarans and Murrers respectively, are much creepier because of the real creatures they’re based on. Since Name only appears in the first game and the remake, it wouldn’t be surprising if the developers decided not to include them in later entries just because they are so weak.

5 Karl Heisenberg – Resident Evil Village

Karl Heisenberg is one of the antagonists in Resident Evil Village. In his human form, Heisenberg resembles someone who cosplays Lord Gascoigne from Bloodborne, but human villains have always been present in the Resident Evil series from the start.

However, his fully mutated form is completely different from Gascoigne’s beastly second form. Instead, Heisenberg transforms into a heaping mass of metal and circular saws that looks like it came straight out of Michael Bay’s Transformers movie series. Because of this, Heisenberg’s mutated form seriously lacks the scare factor it could and should have.

4 Flute Skeleton – Evil Dead The Game

Because of the humor seen in the Evil Dead series, Evil Dead The Game’s Flute Skeleton is probably intentionally stupid. Flute Skeletons, who first appeared in the 1993 film Army Of Darkness, provide support to their demonic allies by playing their thigh flute, causing a debuff for Survivor players that will not be deactivated until they kill the skeleton.

The funniest part? The flute skeleton plays a sour note when it dies, making it even more cartoonish than it already was. It can be a foolish enemy, but in this particular case, at least it’s intentional.

3 Montgomery Gator – Five Nights At Freddy’s

As creepy as the animatronics from the Five Nights At Freddy’s series can be, it’s hard to take Montgomery Gator seriously. This character might feel more at home in a Cartoon Network cartoon than a survival horror game among the bright green scales, purple shoulder pads and gloves, red mohawk and star-shaped sunglasses.

The Shattered version of Mongomery Gator is much scarier than the standard version, as he keeps his arms and torsos, but has no legs, complete with that creepy ruined or outdated animatronic look. Compared to this one, the standard version of Montgomery Gator looks more like something that pops out for a kid’s surprise party than jumpscares.

2 Ivan – Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles

Ivan is one of the least fearsome foes in the Resident Evil series, but he only appears in the Resident Evil lightgun spinoff The Darkside Chronicles. Ivans are redesigned versions of the T-103 Tyrant. Their purpose is to serve as a bodyguard for Sergei Vladimir, therefore they have a more human and less monstrous appearance compared to their predecessors.

While re-engineering past enemies to serve humans is cool, why did the Ivans get an outfit that was essentially priestly robes instead of something more suited to their roles as bodyguards? A cool concept in theory, but poorly executed.

1 Incubator – Silent Hill

While the Incubator appears in all the endings of the original Silent Hill, the player only has to fight her in the two bad endings, which are not considered canon. The Incubator appears when the main character Harry Mason has not completed a specific side mission and is the result of a combination of Alessa Gillespie and Cheryl Mason with a mysterious God. The Incubator appears with an angelic light and wears white robes, but in old PlayStation graphics she looks a lot like Mr. Burns in the eighth episodes of The Simpsons, The Springfield Files, where the character also has a bright glow and white robes but is mistaken for an alien.
