On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Turkey on the anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey 99 years ago.
The relationship between Turkey and the United States is vital and is based on the deep cultural and trade ties between our two countries, as well as our joint work as a NATO ally to promote regional and global peace, security and prosperity. We appreciate Turkey’s firm commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the midst of ongoing Russian aggression.
On this special day, together with our Turkish friends, we join in the celebration and are grateful for our long-standing and close ties.
