During the week following September 12th, these areas are expected to remain the same, with minor changes beginning in a few counties in California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming, along with nearly the entire East Coast.
The rest of the countries will follow the path of the North in the first week of October. For the week of October 10th, only southern states like Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida will see the leaves change. But by Halloween, the entire country is expected to experience an optimal leaf-viewing period, with a large majority of the country near or past peak.
While the system is not 100 percent accurate in predicting when the leaves will change, SmokyMountains.com used historical temperature and precipitation levels, along with NOAA’s temperature and precipitation forecast.
