Music in the Mountains (MIM) compliments our first daring audience as they work to capture the hot Rices Fire in the Yuba River Canyon just southwest of downtown North San Juan. The MIM family and our firefighting community give us our sincere thanks for the work that firefighters are doing to protect our communities.

As our beautiful Nevada County Fairgrounds hosts the CalFire stadium and other emergency services, Music in the Mountains is announcing a change of venue this coming weekend for SummerFest concerts. MIM extends its appreciation to the Nevada County Fairgrounds for valuing local security and for welcoming visitors as a channel of instruction at this time.

MIM recognizes that music helps bring people together in times of fear and pain and plans to move forward with their remaining SummerFest concerts with a change of venue. MIM will be promoting ticket holders and customers as far as possible at the moment and appreciate the flexibility of the public as they work to continue to bring meaningful music events to Nevada County.

The Pirates of the Caribbean concert scheduled for Friday, July 1st at 8:30 pm will be held at the Center for The Arts in the town of Grass Valley. Due to location changes, a limited number and the show was deemed to have been sold to further ticket sales.

MIM’s annual July 3rd “Happy Birthday USA Concert”, a 40-year tradition in Nevada County, has been moved from fairgrounds to Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley and tickets are still available for purchase at www.musicinthemountains.org.

The Happy Birthday USA concert will begin at 8pm with the doors open to the public at 7pm. Residents of the Penn Valley area will enjoy the flyover but residents and pets can relax easily that no firework will be part of the concert.

For tickets to the “Brass, Brats and Brews” Big Band concert scheduled for Saturday, July 9th at the Pine Tree Stage at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, no change has been announced at this time and tickets are still available for purchase.

Music in the Mountains is celebrating their Ruby Anniversary and a special event to bring SummerFest and professional music and pop concerts to the Nevada County Community for over 40 years.
