The French publisher has traditionally held a conference every summer – almost always in June – to coincide with E3, but it chose not to hold a major product show last month, which coincided with the Summer Game Fest.

The company held its first full digital conference, Ubisoft Forward, in July 2020 after the E3 was canceled under Covid-19 concerns. It claimed that the format was a success, at the same time attracting viewers who surpassed its previous E3 conferences.

Ubisoft Forward events were also held in September 2020 and June 2021.

Last week, Ubisoft confirmed plans to participate in Gamescom 2022 in August.

The publisher will disable the servers of some of its older players in September.

The shutdowns mean that the owners of some games are not at all able to play multiplayer for various Assassin’s Creed titles, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Driver San Francisco and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
