CHARLESTON, S.C.—United States Attorney Adair F. Boroughs will join Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco today to participate in the 39th Annual National Night Out as part of a department-wide effort to draw attention to events that build stronger communities.
Established in 1984 through a grant from the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), National Night Out’s goal is to build relationships with communities and law enforcement. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes cooperation and neighborliness among police communities to make our neighborhoods better and safer places to live. In most areas of the country, the program ends each year on the first Tuesday in August.
“I am honored to join our law enforcement partners and community members for National Night Out,” said U.S. District Attorneys. “South Carolina is safer when police officers and the communities they serve see common goals and build relationships.”
