Research and assistance from other federal, state, and county agencies. In the three-month period ending June 30, 2022, the United States brought criminal charges in Arizona against 1,044 people who illegally entered or re-entered the United States. In an ongoing effort to curb illegal immigration, the United States also filed 288 criminal cases against individuals responsible for smuggling undocumented non-citizens into and within the District of Arizona.

Prosecutions against young drivers include three cases brought against juvenile traffickers during this period.
These statistics represent United States Attorney’s Office prosecutions only. The number does not include those arrested by immigration enforcement officials and subject only to administrative proceedings.
