ATLANTA – Some Georgia Bulldog fans are trying to catch some of the last flights out of Atlanta before the National Championship game in Los Angeles.
As of Sunday night, most flights out of Atlanta to LAX were nearly sold out.
“I’m going to LA to see the dawgs get this win,” said passenger Sheryl Merritt.

The few seats still available between Delta, American and United Airlines Sunday afternoon were between $1,000 and $500,000.
The cheapest option Channel 2 found for travelers was through Southwest and Spirit with flights starting between $500 and $900.
Channel 2’s Elizabeth Rawlins spoke to some travelers who have been saving all year.
“Last January, I started putting five dollars in the box and now I have about $1,200,” said Jerry Howell.
Chris Biggs lives in the United Kingdom and has been a Dawg fan for almost 10 years. He ended up taking his savings last year.
“I’m really excited,” said Chris Biggs. “This is like Christmas Eve for me. I can’t wait anymore. “
A trip from Georgia to L.A. It may be one of the longest trips for many Dawg fans, but Biggs may have set the record for the most miles traveled to a UGA game, coming from the United Kingdom to watch a game in Athens last weekend.
However, Biggs told Rawlins that he would be watching the match from across the pond.
“It will start after midnight here so maybe there can be a coffee and a break before the game,” said Biggs.
There is no rest for the weary for many die hard Dawg fans. There is no place they would not travel because regardless of time and cost, the experience is worth it.
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime,” Howell said.
“You only live once,” Merritt said.
