For the second consecutive weekend, the NFL called Phillies announcer Tom McCarthy.

McCarthy, in his thirteenth season as the team’s televised voice on NBC Sports Philadelphia, was in the booth on Friday to call Phillies-Braves. But he will miss matches on Saturday and Sunday because he will broadcast the Indianapolis Colts to the Jacksonville Jaguars for CBS along with former Giants running back Tiki Barber.

Once again, Phillies’ longtime radio announcer Scott Franzke will replace McCarthy on TV, calling both games alongside analyst Ben Davis. Saturday’s game will air on NBC10 at 7:20 pm and Sunday’s game at 1:35 pm. will be on NBC Sports Philadelphia.

For the second consecutive week, Lehigh Valley IronPigs triple A announcer Pat McCarthy, Tom’s 27-year-old son, will call Phillies games on the radio in place of Franzke. Joining McCarthy will be Michael Bourn, one of four former players who called Phillies games on the radio this season after Larry Andersen stepped back to call only the team’s home weekend games.

McCarthy told The Inquirer that this will be the last time this season he will miss a Phillies game to call the NFL. He plans to call a few NFL games on the radio for Westwood One, including a Monday Night Football match between the Tennessee Titans and the Buffalo Bills on September 19 (part of a doubleheader including the Eagles’ home opener against the Minnesota Vikings) . That appears to be a day off for the Phillies.
