Neenah 46, De Pere 7

DE PERE — Jase Jenkins rushed for 261 yards on 25 carries and four touchdowns as the Rockets defeated the defending Fox River Classic Conference-North champions in an out-of-conference showdown.

Jenkins scored on runs of 50, 51, 4 and 7 yards to lead a potent rushing game by Neenah that generated 460 yards. See the article : Food bank needs help amid economic struggles.

“Jase Jenkins runs so hard every day in practice, so watching him run around the field… it’s just another training day for him,” said Neenah coach Steve Jung.

Sophomore quarterback Evan Vanevenoven also had a pair of touchdown runs (1.55), with Evan Kirkman also scoring on a 55-yard rush.

De Pere’s standout quarterback Gabe Herman was injured during the game and did not play for most of the second half.

Neenah’s defense limited the Redbirds to just 179 yards total offense and totaled four interceptions, including a pair of sophomore safety Grant Dean.

“We were super happy,” Jung said. “We really played well, both sides of the ball. We knew they would spread us out and we had to play in a lot of space. And offensively, we executed. And really our physical form really showed.
