After remaining steadfast in his support for the PGA Tour against LIV Golf last month, Rory McIlroy made headlines earlier this week with comments about the need for peace talks.

On Saturday, McIlroy felt compelled to further clarify himself during an interview with CBS Sports’ Kyle Porter.

Four days earlier, McIlroy told BBC Sport Northern Ireland he believed the DP World Tour, PGA Tour and LIV Golf needed to come together to resolve their “mess” situation, signaling a possible change in his stance on the starter tour. However, when given the opportunity to clarify his statement further, McIlroy said on Saturday that he remains against LIV Golf and the league’s place in the sport.

“There is no room in the golf world for LIV Golf,” McIlroy told Porter. “I don’t agree with what LIV is doing. If LIV leaves tomorrow I will be very happy.”

McIlroy’s scathing critique of the Saudi-backed series hit back at his earlier comments from Tuesday when he appeared to advocate for a two-league solution.

“I think it needs to happen,” he said, per Independent.ie. “Look, there’s been so much chatter about where the money is coming from and the Saudis and whatnot, look, they’re sponsoring so many other things and they’re all about sport.

“Aramco is a big sponsor of Formula One, the Aramco Ladies Series in golf, which is actually really great for the women in terms of big prize funds and all, so I understand people’s objections to everything.

“But at the same time, if these guys are serious about investing billions of dollars into golf, I think it’s a good thing in the end.”

Saturday’s report adds to the growing list of harsh comments that McIlroy has offered in the past month.

On June 8, the 33-year-old cited money as a possible motivation for those seeking to defect to LIV Golf.

On June 22, McIlroy denounced Brooks Koepka and other players joining for rival tours in recent months after Koepka chose to compete at the LIV Golf Series Tournament in Portland. McIlroy told reporters his comments were in response to Koepka having previously said there was no other choice when asked if he would commit to the PGA Tour.

“Am I surprised? Yes, because of what he said before,” he said during a press conference. “I think that’s why I’m surprised at a lot of these people because they say one thing and then they do another, and I don’t understand that and I don’t know if it’s for legal reasons… it’s their part to say one thing and then do another. ”

McIlroy, a member of the PGA Tour’s policy board, was also vocal in supporting PGA commissioner Jay Monahan’s decision in early June to suspend current and former members playing in the LIV Golf Invitational Series.

“Jay is fairly transparent in that he will only act in accordance with the tournament rules and the rules set out for members of the PGA Tour,” he said. “Everything he did was basically following the books.”

However, EA Sports has now pulled the game from its online channels, namely for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The original expiration date given was May 22, but it appears the game was removed before that date from the Xbox Live Marketplace and Xbox Live Marketplace. PlayStation Store, according to ComicBook.com.
