Whether it’s Costco’s rotisserie chicken, big bags of brownie brittle, or a few packages of Kirkland bacon, fans of every recipe know that some Costo foods have a strong following. But the fellowship of followers is sometimes led in a different way, which does not call for “crushing” or “cooking” so much as “ice” and “drinking.” Another item that recently hit Costco shelves — and that has people on social media excited — is the Frigidaire countertop ice maker. Costco fan account @costcobuys shared a clip of the compact device on Instagram and shoppers are struggling in the comments.
According to the post, the Frigidaire countertop self-cleaning ice maker is available now at their Costco location for $89. The original poster exclaims in the video that he loves the bullet-shaped ice produced by the device, lifting the lid of the machine to reveal the tiny pieces. Here’s what you need to know about the countertop ice maker now at Costco, and why some Instagram followers can’t wait to try it.
The countertop ice maker has hundreds of rave reviews
While the Frigidaire self-cleaning countertop ice maker recently returned to Costco, it is also available at other retailers, where it has received high praise from hundreds (and even thousands) of reviewers. On Amazon, where it sells for $180, it’s so popular that it’s now sold out. More than 2,200 people gave it an average of 4.5-stars. So much so, as the name suggests, that it is snowing and that it can make up to 26 kilograms of snow a day. Plus, it’s small enough that it doesn’t take up significant counter space. “This might be the best thing I’ve bought this year,” one person gushed, while another said, “Now I can make ice whenever I want, as much as I want.”
The blogger behind Shopping with Dave also has good things to say about the Frigidaire ice maker from Costco. “I love the ice it produces and I’m a fan of the simple and efficient operation,” they wrote, recommending it to be used by one or two people given its size. Of course, not everyone spoke in favor of the ice maker. To see also : Costco is pushing up the prices of some food items. On Instagram, a user called it “the worst purchase I’ve ever made,” and another showed little faith in the item, writing, “All those ice countertop makers stop working properly or break completely after a year. You always have problems.” However, many customers expressed their satisfaction.
