After the scheduled program was completed during a meeting of the Commissioners’ Commission on Tuesday, Ector County Judge Debi Hays announced a meal plan to help Jesus House.
Hays says the car will be a competition between Ector County and the City of Odessa.
The food campaign started on Tuesday and will last for the next two weeks. Hays said donations could include canned and dry goods.
“We will try to make this a fun event,” Hays said. “We are starting this event today (Tuesday) until July 26 in an attempt to help fill the phantry.”
In a regular scheduled program, the Ector County Commissioners’ Committee discussed various issues.
The details of the schedule include the recognition and presentation of Madison Guerrero, Britton Morrow and Carson Nevill in plaque to create a winning design and motto for the Ector County Outreach Mobile Unit Health Department.

At the start of the meeting, Oxy Project Manager, Steven Scannapieco, briefed the commissioners on the Low Carbon Business for the upgrading of County Road 307 (South Wheeler Road). The commissioners accepted the proposal.

Greg Simmons, Commissioner of Precinct 2, asked Scannapieco why fiber optic cable could be above ground instead of below ground. Scannapieco stated on the number of underground pipelines that it costs more to run a fiber optic cable above the ground.
The commissioners developed a SOV (Statement of Values) for submission to the Travelers Insurance Group in partnership with USI Insurance Services.

The commissioners have received four proposals for mobile homes. Two mobile home units are located at 3740 N. Vega Avenue and 3735 N. Vega Avenue. Two other mobile home units are located at 8749 W. Kassidy Street and 8735 W. Kassidy Street.
Commissioners meet in the executive council to discuss legal issues, land issues and partnerships, and labor issues. Commissioners have approved an amendment to the harassment policy.
