Coffeehouse and drinkery a finalist in statewide Open 4 Business contest

As a finalist, the company will receive an $8,000 grant and must add its own $2,000.
When the funds are awarded, The Beancounter will introduce Boba Tea to their counter later this year.
Boba (also called Bubble Tea) is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. This is another great drink option that brings the drinkery to the community.
The Downtown Conference will be held in Pella on August 2-3. Pre-conference activities include the Open 4 Business Finals on August 1.
The final round will consist of a personal presentation.
There, Beancounter competes with companies from Le Mars, Dubuque, Greenfield and Keokuk.
The competition is sponsored by the Main Street Iowa Program and the Iowa Economic Development Authority to help participating cities improve the physical and economic health of their designated Main Street districts.

Burlington selected for branding technical services

The selection was based on the application filed by Downtown Partners, Inc. on Main Street Iowa.
This service, valued at $15,000 to the local community, is to Ben Muldrow of Arnett Muldrow & Associates and will contain virtual and personal components.
Muldrow is a talented graphic artist who has been designing for over 25 years with experience in a wide variety of marketing applications.
He provides community identity and branding services for communities across the United States.
He has worked on a number of projects specializing in the development of city and neighborhood identities, signage strategies and promotional marketing materials.
