ONE Championship and Amazon Prime Video’s partnership is officially underway.
A press conference was held at The Novo in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 20, to formally announce the launch, and several UN stars were in attendance to witness the historic day of promotion.
The first event, ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II, will be broadcast live in US primetime via the streaming giant on August 26, with four other dates also confirmed for later in the year.
Prime Video subscribers will get to enjoy all the action that ONE is known worldwide for on September. 30, October 21, November 18, and December 2.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for us at Prime Video with our first ever UN event streaming live in August,” said Marie Donoghue, Vice President of Global Sports Video, Amazon. “It’s an opportunity for us to connect with ONE’s large and passionate fans and for us to introduce millions of new fans to ONE Championship.”
Among the many stars who appeared at the press conference were ONE Prime Video 1 headliners Adriano Moraes and Demetrious Johnson.
“I feel blessed to be [on] the front row of the biggest event ever in ONE Championship,” said Moraes. “I have been with the company for a long time, and I feel that I have been gifted [with this opportunity]. I’m excited – let’s go [win this fight] again.”
His counterpart, Johnson, was also grateful for the opportunity to headline the huge card, and took the opportunity to outline how his preparation for the World title is going.
“It feels amazing, you know,” Johnson said. “It’s a great platform to be on and have my shot at Adriano Moraes, who is an amazing athlete. We are training very hard and hope we can get this win down. I’m excited, man.”
ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II airs live on Prime Video in US primetime on Friday, August 26, at 9 p.m. ET.
