Sylvester Stallone will play the role of a reluctant superhero forced to fight crime in the new trailer of the original Prime Video Samaritan, which will debut on August 26 on the streaming service.
The film stars Stallone as a Samaritan with a superpower who was believed to have died 20 years ago in a fiery battle with his rival, but instead hid in the fictional Granite City in plain sight. According to Prime Video, a chance meeting with a young neighbor and rising crime in the city are driving the Samaritan out of the shadows.
In addition to Stallone, the Samaritan also appears in Javon “Wanna” Walton, Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco and Moises Arias.
Stallone is also set to star in the Paramount Plus mafia series Tulsa King, which will debut in November this year.
