Gilmore Girls has been a staple on Netflix for years. The streamer holds global rights to all seven seasons and the spin-off Netflix Original miniseries. Its time on Netflix may be coming to an end, but not too soon: new information suggests that Netflix will keep the series until at least 2026.
The comedy-drama starring Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Melissa McCarthy and Keiko Agena is still a Netflix favorite despite airing on the WB more than two decades ago.
A new joint investigation by The Wrap and What’s on Netflix may reveal some preliminary expiration dates for some of Netflix’s most popular licensed titles. Titles listed with possible expiration dates included New Girl, The Good Place, Supernatural and Shameless.
One of the series we looked at was Gilmore Girls, which reveals that Netflix worldwide will keep the show for another four years from the time of its release.
Now, we should emphasize that expiration dates are highly subject to change.
However, given the general direction of licensed content in recent years, it’s a real possibility that Netflix will lose Gilmore Girls to HBO Max.
When will Gilmore Girls leave Netflix?

Again, Netflix could renew its license with Warner Bros. Television, but that is currently the expected time when the series will start.

Will Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life leave Netflix?
As we’ve covered extensively, Netflix Originals aren’t immune to removal (we’ve seen dozens leave the service over the years) from the service. To see also : Netflix is releasing a home rehearsal session with a spicy tour.
Of course, Warner Bros. Discovery still ultimately owns Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life , so we could see the show leave as well. You can tell they still own the show considering they decided to air the miniseries on The CW (a network owned by Warner Bros.).
Our current data suggests that A Year in the Life is currently scheduled to remain on Netflix until at least November 25, 2026.
Those with a good memory will remember that the limited series came out on Netflix on November 25, 2016, meaning the series was licensed exclusively to Netflix for 10 years after its initial release (the usual timeframe for most Netflix shows and third-party movies).
As we mentioned before, many fans are continuing to campaign for a second season after the mini-series is released on Netflix, but maybe we can get it after it leaves Netflix? We will have to wait and see.
