Next is the show that not only had the most promise but also had one of the shortest runs of any on this list. Archive 81 was a strong series focused on the supernatural that successfully made the leap from podcast to screen with strong performances from Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihabi to boot. You can be forgiven if you didn’t know about this one because this series came and went in the blink of an eye. The Midnight Gospel

A unique series that was as meditative as it was exciting to watch, The Midnight Gospel was a wonderful experience from the minds of Duncan Trussell and Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time). Originally a little over two years ago on April 20th, because of course it was supposed to be on 4/20, it was basically an animated adaptation of a podcast episode from Duncan Trussell’s long-running Family Hour. It was then put through a blend of trippy visuals and an oddly melancholic story that really gripped you. However, the show was still short-lived as it was canceled in June of this year after only running for one season.
