Movie Release Schedule for Netflix in Fall 2022

13: The Musical

This CBS film is from the famous play of the same name and is directed by Tamra Davis, best known for Half Baked and Billy Madison.

Here’s what to expect from the Netflix musical:

“After her parents’ divorce, Evan Goldman (Eli Golden) moves from NYC to the small town of Indiana. As his 13th birthday approaches, he must master the complex social circles of the new school and win friends by making his Bar Mitzvah the coolest party ever. “

A Jazzman’s Blues

Creator Tyler Perry has reportedly been waiting for over 25 years to get his period crime drama A Jazzman’s Blues in development. The story takes place over 50 years, from 1937 to 1987, when an investigation is led into an unsolved murder mystery.

The film will debut at Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival in August 2022.

All Quiet on the Western Front

Genre: War Drama Director: Edward Berger Actors: Daniel Brühl, Albrecht Schuch, Sebastian Hülk, Edin Hasanovic Language: German Expected Release Date: October 2022 See the article : Netflix: Exciting movies will debut in 2023.

This multilingual film will be played from the perspective of a young German soldier’s experience on the Western Front during World War I.

The film is one of our most anticipated films and is currently aiming for a release date in 2022.

Blonde

Based on the 2000 novel of the same name, this biopic is a reimagining of the tragic life of Marilyn Monroe (played by Ana de Armas). Adrien Brody stars as Monroe’s husband, The Playwright (AKA Arthur Miller) and Caspar Phillipson play JFK.

This will be the fifth time he plays the late president: Phillipson has previously filled the role in the 2016 biography, Jackie, the short film The Speech JFK Never Gave, The History Channel TV drama Project Blue Book, plus several stage appearances.

Day Shift

Genre: FantasyDirector: J.J. PerryCast: Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Steve Howey, Jamie Foxx, Scott Adkins, Eric Lange, Dave Franco, Meagan Good Coming to Netflix: August 12

Described as a vampire hunter movie, Day Shift is directed by John Wick 2 and The Fate of the Furious.

It follows a father who works as a pool cleaner, but who is actually a notorious vampire hunter.

End of the Road

Genre: Mystery, Thriller Director: Millicent Shelton

Queen Latifah returns for her second major Netflix Original film in 2022 following the release of Hustle.

She will appear as Brenda in this thriller about a new widow who starts a new life on the other side of the country, but after getting into trouble while on the journey, she is chased by a murderer.

Enola Holmes 2 

Genre: Action, Family Directed by: Harry Bradbeer Cast: Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Louis Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter, David Thewlis, Susan Wokoma

Following the first Enola Holmes movie success, Netflix quickly gave the green light to a sequel coming out in late 2022, after filming in late 2021 and packing in January 2022.

Here’s what you can expect from the sequel:

“Now Enola Holmes is a detective to hire as her infamous brother, taking on her first official case to find a missing girl, while the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires help from friends – and Sherlock himself – to dissolve .”

Falling For Christmas

Genre: Christmas Romantic Comedy Director: Janeen Damian Cast: Lindsay Lohan, Chord Overstreet, George Young, Jack Wagner, Olivia Perez

Lindsay Lohan’s new holiday feature will lead Netflix’s Christmas movie series for 2022.

The film sees a spoiled heir end up in a ski accident and suffers from memory loss. She finds herself in the care of a cottage owner with whom she has an unlikely relationship.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio

Genre: Animation Director: Guillermo del ToroCast: Cate Blanchett, Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, Ron Pearlman, Christoph Waltz Coming to Netflix: December TBD (currently December 9)

Guillermo del Toro is working on a number of major projects for Netflix as part of his production contract, but perhaps the most exciting is this modern, darker retelling of Pinnochio.

Filmed entirely in stop-motion, we will see the classic children’s adventure come to life with a large cast. Voices to be shown include Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, Christopher Waltz and Ron Perlman.

The movie is coming to Netflix in December 2022.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (FKA Knives Out 2)

Genre: Thriller Director: Rian Johnson Cast: Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline

The first Knives Out movie was a huge hit for Lionsgate and is now returning for a sequel with a brand new case to be solved by Benoit Blanc.

The sequel began filming in Greece in June 2021.

A third film is also under development exclusively for Netflix, with Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig again linked.

Ivy + Bean 

Genre: Kids, FamilyDirector: Elissa DownCast: Keslee Blalock, Madison Skye Validum, Lidya Jewett, Jesse Tyler Ferguson Coming to Netflix: September 2nd

Based on the popular children’s books by Annie Barrows, this new family film will be a faithful adaptation of the source material.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover

Adaptation of D.H. The Lawrence novel by author David Magee. The film will tell the story of a woman who breaks out of her marriage vows and falls in love with a man who works on her property.

Best known for Riverdale, Lili Reinhart, will headline this new sci-fi film that sees the character’s life go down two very different paths in real time. On one timeline, she has become a mother and stays in her hometown to raise a child; in the other, she moves to Los Angeles to pursue a career.

Lou

The film was first known as Plus / Minus and it comes from Catchlight Studios.

Jurnee Smollett, known for Birds of Prety and Lovecraft Country, will headline this new film coming from Bad Robot and seeing J.J. Abrams produces.

Love in the Villa

Luckiest Girl Alive

Me Time

Lionsgate is behind this film that comes exclusively to Netflix and is about a woman in New York who is facing a trauma that makes her life unravel. It is based on the novel of the same name by Jessica Knoll.

A large ensemble crew comes together for this comedy film written and directed by John Hamburg.

Monkey Man 

Follows a father who finds time for himself for the first time in many years while his wife and children are away. He resumes contact with a friend for a wild weekend.

This will be Dev Patel’s directorial debut in a movie Netflix paid reportedly $ 30 million for.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical

Cartoon Saloon from Ireland will bring its long-awaited animated feature film My Father’s Dragon to Netflix in late 2022.

The film was announced along with a large selection of new animated projects back in 2018, with many that have already been released in recent times since then.

My Father’s Dragon is written by Meg LeFauve who was previously on Pixar and wrote Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol

Genre: Musical Director: Matthew Warchus Cast: Alisha Weir, Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, Stephen Graham

One of the many Roald Dahl adaptations in the work for Netflix has been a musical live-action adaptation of Matilda. The film tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a sharp mind and a vivid imagination, dares to take a stand to change her story with miraculous results.

Netflix UK will not be bringing the film with it instead is expected to hit theaters instead.

Shirley

Slumberland

From Timeless Films in the UK comes this new animated feature film that adapts the Charles Dickens classic. It has been described as a musical adaptation with new original music from Leslie Bricusse.

It was announced along with a number of other new animated projects from Netflix that were produced across Europe.

Genre: Biopic Director: John Ridley Cast: Regina King, Lance Reddick, W. Earl Brown, Lucas Hedges, Terrence Howard

Participant and Royal Ties join forces for a new biography of the late Shirley Chisholm, who in particular became the first black woman to be elected to the US Congress.

12 Years a Slave director John Ridley leads the project with Regina King producing.

Spaceman

Genre: Fantasy Director: Francis Lawrence Cast: Jason Momoa, Marlow Barkley, Chris O’Dowd, Kyle Chandler, Weruche Opia, India de Beaufort, Humberly Gonzalez

The Curse of Bridge Hollow (FKA Boo!)

“A young girl discovers a secret map of Slumberland’s dream world, and with the help of an eccentric outlaw, she crosses dreams and escapes nightmares, hoping she will be able to see her deceased father again.”

Adam Sandler will headline this sci-fi adaptation (formerly known as Spaceman of Bohemia) of the book by Jaroslav Kalfař. The story is about an orphaned boy raised in the Czech countryside who beats all odds and becomes the country’s first astronaut.

The film went into post-production in the summer of 2021.

The Good Nurse

Christian Bale will play the role of Augustus Landor, a veteran detective investigating the murder of his young cadet who will eventually become Edgar Allan Poe.

The film reportedly has a budget of over $ 70 million and was filmed between November 2021 and February 2022.

They Cloned Tyrone

Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key are both behind the pen and will vote in this brand new animated film coming in 2021.

The director behind Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline lends his talents to this title. It is called a horror title and is about two demon brothers who escape from the underworld.

Noah Baumbach returns for his second major Netflix movie after Marriage Story.

The film is set to adapt the classic book by Don DeLillo, which is set in a college in the Midwest and will cover the year in the life of a professor named Jack Gladney.
