Fresh off another successful season of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers have just announced their new production company, Upside Down Pictures, and their re-commitment to Netflix, along with a list of projects coming to streaming in the future. One of those upcoming projects is a live-action Death Note series. Yes, another Death Note adaptation… Hope this adaptation has a lot of success with the Duffer Brothers.
We’re not really surprised that the Duffer Brothers have decided to start their own production company since they’ve had a lot of success with Stranger Things over the years. I mean, Stranger Things is arguably the best original series on Netflix. So I think that would make the most sense.
BBC America and MRC veteran Hilary Leavitt has been announced as head of Upside Down Pictures. Leavitt is best known for developing the TV series Orphan Black, Ozark, The Great and Shining Girls.
In addition to the live-action adaptation of Death Note, Upside Down Pictures is adapting Stephen King and Peter Straub’s Talisman into a new original series, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance creators Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, and Thing into an unreleased original series. stage play and spinoff series.

The original manga series was about a teenage boy who finds a mysterious notebook that gives him supernatural powers to kill someone by writing the victim’s name and depicting their face on its pages. Netflix hasn’t released any plot details for the upcoming live-action series adaptation, but they have announced that it will be a “completely new take.”
Unfortunately, no production schedule or release window was announced. However, we can’t wait for more details to come out!
