Tee Grizzley got into the popular video game streaming YouTube space for profit, and the Detroit rapper claims he’s making almost $200,000 a month doing it.
On Sunday (July 17), Tee Grizzley appeared on the latest episode of Gillie Da Kid and Wallo267’s Millon Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. During the talk, the topic of new goals in life came up. Tee said he’s a budding video game mogul and explained how the hobby turned into a business.
“During the pandemic, a black guy was home bored,” Tee Grizzley said around 35:20 into the interview. “[I] jumped into the game. They said, ‘You need to broadcast this shit. [They] aren’t even going to believe how good you are.'”
Tee said his favorite franchises are Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto. Once he saw the profit, he went all in.
“These are people who make $100 million, get $100 million contracts on that shit,” Tee added at 36:20 into the meeting. “They’re making $1 million a month. All they do is sit there and play.”
Tee Grizzley said he also invited his friends and helped them get off the streets through video games.
“I got a lot of niggas that are really from the trenches that have a PC, now they’re not on the streets anymore,” he added. “Now they make $20-$25,000 a month playing this shit. The way I monetized, I get paid from the server, because you have to pay to get in and we have like 90,000 members.”
Tee said a friend in Canada put him in the game and made it a free server.
“‘You can make an extra $5,000 a month,'” Tee Grizzley said the friend told him.
The rapper said he far exceeded that amount and earns close to $200,000 a month. “Shit turned into almost [$50,000] a week,” Tee confirmed.
Though he’s apparently making huge profits through video game streaming, Tee Grizzley’s main focus remains music. In April, he released his latest mixtape Half Tee Half Beast.
