Zynga has delayed the release of Star Wars: Hunters again, this time until 2023.
The free team-based arena fighting game was originally scheduled to be released for Switch, iOS, and Android devices in 2021, ahead of the early 2022 delay.
Announced in February 2021, Star Wars: Hunters is currently working at NaturalMotion Games, a British development studio owned by Zynga that was acquired by parent company Rockstar Take-Two earlier this year.

The action takes place between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a game released on mobile devices in selected countries at the end of 2021.
According to NaturalMotion, Hunters challenge players to “build a team from a cast of unique and all-new Star Wars characters – from brave bounty hunters to Rebel heroes and Imperial stormtroopers. Read also : Analysts forecast sharp decline in video game industry spending.”
Players also take part in real-time cross-play battles in “grand arenas” based on the iconic Star Wars settings.
Announcing the game’s final delay on Monday, the studio said: “We’re working tirelessly to realize our vision for Star Wars: Hunters. Our ambition is to create a competitive battle arena game that will keep you entertained for many years to come.
“To ensure that we are meeting the high expectations we have for fans around the world and ourselves as developers, we decided to delay the worldwide launch of Star Wars: Hunters.
“We invite all players to join us on Vespaara as Star Wars: Hunters makes its debut in 2023 on Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android devices.
“We understand that game delays are frustrating, but our top priority is to give players the best possible arena experience,” added NaturalMotion.
“For those of you who were able to join us at the soft launch, we really appreciate your support and feedback as we work to make Star Wars: Hunters the best it can be.
“We will continue to regularly roll out new content updates in the Soft Release Territories until worldwide release, and our next update will be coming in the next few weeks.”
