The Model Y and Model 3 have seen reduced costs of the Standard, Performance and Long Range versions.
Tesla has slashed the prices of some of its vehicles in the United States. With the introduction of the tax credit, the reduced price means that the Model Y Long Range AWD is approximately $20,000 USD cheaper than before.
Sawyer Merritt noted on Twitter on January 12, 2023 that Tesla had lowered the price of its vehicles in the United States. Some of these price reductions amount to nearly 20 percent, with the Model Y Long Range being priced from $65,990 to $52,990 USD.

Merritt points out that this price reduction now allows all Long Range Model Y to qualify for the electric vehicle tax credit. Twitter user Troy Teslike provided a helpful table showing the two vehicles and their two versions with price changes and tax credits applied.
Consumers who have been waiting to buy a Tesla may find that now is a good time to jump on the electric vehicle bandwagon. With all necessary tax credits in place, the cheapest option appears to be the Model 3, priced at $36,490 USD.
An interesting start to the year for Tesla. The company reports that it has delivered 1.31 million vehicles in 2022, slashed the prices of the Model 3 and Y in China, and has even proposed expanding the Texas Gigafactory.
