President Joe Biden must act to prevent a nuclear war. We must get out of NATO and not engage in open military confrontation with nuclear-armed Russia. CIA agents, US military trainers and “volunteers” are already fighting in Ukraine. Our weapons and assistance enable the Ukrainian resistance. Now, before Putin escalates his invasion, we must engage in peace talks.
Our ruling class shows no interest in an immediate end to the Russian war. They are as indifferent to the safety of Americans as they are to the continuing death and destruction in Ukraine. Their willingness to risk nuclear war to bring about regime change in Russia is the same NeoCon depravity that led to endless, senseless, and catastrophic wars in the Middle East, Central America, and Southeast Asia. The suffering in Ukraine, Europe and the Global South caused by what our politicians call a “proxy war” is none of their business. Global hegemony, oil and gas sales and profits from our defense industry are their agenda. They, who have attacked twenty-five countries in the last sixty years, are not so different from Vladimir Putin.
We cannot know on what terms this war would end without peace talks. It is imperative that we demand them now.
