LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Kynleigh Henson has lived in Cotton County most of her life and her passion is farming.

She won the title of Miss Agriculture United States of Oklahoma 2023.

Cotton County Commissioner Mike Woods said few people get the opportunity she has.

“It’s really an honor for her to be able to do that and go to the nationals, it’s a big deal for Cotton County,” Woods said.

The county commissioners presented a proclamation at the County Free Fair declaring August 20 as her day.

Henson was shocked to hear that she had dedicated the whole day to her and said that this was a big deal for her.

“It’s really an honor to know that my entire community cares and is making this as big of a deal as it is for me,” Henson said.

She encourages other young girls to get involved in agriculture because it helped her change her life.

“It took me out of my comfort zone and I want to let other girls know that you too can be a queen and learn about farming,” she said.

Henson also said the Miss United States Agriculture program should inspire the teaching and advocacy of agriculture for everyone in our state.
