LIMERICK, IRELAND – The United States U20 Men’s National Team kicked off the 2022 U21 World Lacrosse Championship with a 7-5 victory over Canada on Wednesday morning. A quartet of Blue Devils helped the US win over its rivals, getting off on the right foot in the Pool A game.
Juniors Brennan O’Neill and Jake Naso both had strong performances for Team USA with O’Neill scoring twice, including the seventh goal to seal the win. On the faceoff dot, Naso was unstoppable, winning 10-of-11 restarts. O’Neill was the only player to score more goals for the United States.
Senior Jake Caputo helped out on the faceoff wing and teamed up with close defenseman Kenny Brower as part of a defensive unit that held Canada to just five goals over four. Caputo took a ground ball.
