Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz today to discuss a range of shared security challenges, including threats from Iran and US support for Israel’s security. Minister Blinken reiterated the government’s belief that Israelis and Palestinians deserve equal measures of security, freedom and democracy. The secretary also raised the tragic murder of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and the need for accountability.
