The emergence of the COVID-19 disaster is a testament to the resilience of your country and should also be noted. We stand with Kiribati in tackling climate change and ensuring the conservation of marine resources by shaping a free and open future in the Pacific. The 1979 Friendship Agreement, signed in the first years of your independence, is the foundation of our common pursuit of prosperity. We look forward to continuing our cooperation and bringing our countries closer in the areas of mutual benefit.
