On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I extend my best wishes to the Government of Algeria and its people on the anniversary of the independence of Algeria on July 5th.
Our commitments go back to the 1795 Treaty of Peace and Amity. Since then, Algerians and Americans have forged strong and growing economic, educational, and cultural ties. I visited Algeria in March to discuss with President Tebboune and Foreign Minister Lamamra how we could refuse to deepen this relationship. To make this happen, the United States is looking forward to being a Honorary Country at the recently launched Algiers International Fair and hopes to promote our economic and security interests.
Congratulations Algeria on this special day and give my best wishes.
