It could be more of the same this week after the Lions allowed just 50 rushing yards last week and 22 the week before against the Vikings, and their opportunistic defense has a chance to short Jared Goff and Co. Giving fields when it can benefit Darnold’s capital. Mistake.

I mean, have you ever been in an airport around the holidays? It’s like a combination of “Squid Game,” “The Hunger Games” and “Snakes on a Plane.”
“Now, I know Washington’s travel is chartered, but let’s be honest, anyone who spends more than five minutes in an airport around Christmas is automatically at a psychological disadvantage and everything they do for at least a month while they mentally recover of what they do. just experienced.
“The Commanders reward for all this is that they face the hottest team in football, who also have the best defense in the NFL. The 49ers defense has given up the fewest yards per game AND the fewest points per game this season. The only true weakness of the defense, which isn’t even really a weakness, is stopping the pass, but it will be hard for the Chiefs to exploit that considering they have a QB who may not have a job until Christmas comes around.
“Taylor Heinicke will definitely start this week for Washington, but Ron Rivera won’t commit to that. It’s going to take a Christmas miracle for the Chiefs to win this one and I’ve watched enough Christmas movies to know that those miracles only happen on the 34th Street. Eagles at Cowboys

The SportsLine projection model is on an absolute tear and enters Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season on an incredible 157-113 run on top-rated NFL picks dating back to the 2017 season. The model knows that Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett is expected to start against the Raiders this week after missing time with a concussion. In 10 games this season, Pickett has completed 191 of 294 passes (65%) for 1,797 yards and four touchdowns. He also threw eight interceptions and has a passer rating of 74.9. The rookie continued to improve and threw two touchdowns and zero interceptions on October 30. In a 37-30 loss at Cincinnati on November 20, he completed 25 of 42 passes for 265 yards (59.5%) and a touchdown. He also ran for three scores.
The model also knows that Las Vegas is led by quarterback Derek Carr, who completed 289 of 472 passes (61.2%) for 3,348 yards and 23 touchdowns with 11 interceptions and an 89.2 rating. He is coming off a 231-yard and three-touchdown performance against the Patriots. He has thrown for two or more touchdowns in six of the last seven games.
