“That was uncomfortable for him because he didn’t know what to expect in the circumstances. We had no other options. We would see how long he would last and we would go for Josh (Johnson) but he felt comfortable as the game progressed. It was pretty incredible.”
While Purdy only averages 5.6 air yards per attempt, he still hasn’t turned the ball around and helped the 49ers win games. So far, San Francisco has not missed a beat under Purdy – and remains a Super Bowl contender as a result.
