POTSDAM, New York (WWNY) – Four Division 10 football championships along with a trip to state were on the line Saturday at Potsdam High School and SUNY Potsdam.

Gouverneur met Salmon River for the Section 10 Class B Girls’ Soccer championship at SUNY Potsdam.

The Wildcats scored two goals in the opening 15 minutes, then held on to beat the Shamrocks 2-0.

Nici House-Bowman scored the first goal for the Cats. Chloe Smith then added an insurance score.

The Wildcats win Section 10 Class B, and advance to state against Section III champion Westhill, Wednesday at 7 p.m. at SUNY Potsdam.

At Potsdam High School, Canton faced St. Lawrence Central in the Section 10 Class C Girls Soccer Championship.

All the goalkeepers were called upon to make big contributions.

Sydney Francis scores the opening goal for Canton, while Jocelyn Moreau scores for St. Lawrence Central.

In overtime, Emily Easterbrook connects for the game-winning touchdown as Canton beats St. Louis. Lawrence Central 2-1 to win the Class C crown, and advance to the state tournament to face Section VII champion Northeastern Clinton, Wednesday at 5 PM at SUNY Potsdam.

On the boys side at Potsdam High School, Salmon River and OFA tied for the Section 10 Class B championship.

OFA Dylan Irvine is turned away by Kaden Cartier.

Cade Cook got Salmon River on the board on a penalty kill to make it 1-0 Shamrocks.

Evan Collette tries one home from 25 yards out: 2-0 Salmon River.

The Shamrocks beat OFA 3-0 to win Class B and advance to the state tournament.

And at Potsdam High, Canton and Madrid Waddington squared off for the Boys’ Section 10 Class C title.

Jackson Ames stops Kaden Kingston.

Johnny McLear found Ethan Francey for the first goal: 1-0 Canton.

Then Ryan Jones followed with a penalty: 2-0 Canton.

Canton defeats Madrid-Waddington 4-0 to win the Class C championship.

In the Boys’ Liberty Soccer League from Canton, St. Lawrence to Hobart in their regular season finale.

Marvin Sibanda will score in the 75th minute to break the deadlock, and St. Lawrence won 1-0.

The Saints finished the regular season undefeated in the Liberty League at 6-0-3.

In Federal Prospects Hockey League play from the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds, the Wolves hosted Elmira.

In the 1st period, Elmira went up 2-1 when Parker Moskal put a shot into the back of the net, making Elmira up 3-1.

The Wolves answered 59 seconds later when Michael Mann lit the lamp, the Wolves down 3-2 after the 1st period.

The Wolves defeat Elmira 6-5 in overtime.

In Women’s ECAC Hockey from Cheel Arena, 10th ranked Clarkson hosts RPI.

At 8:14 of the 1st, Clarkson took the lead when Kirstyn McQuigge scored to go ahead: 1-0 Clarkson.

On 5 minutes later, Jenna Goodwin tickle twine on the door: 2-0 Lady Golden Knights.

In the 2nd period it was 2-1 Clarkson when Gretchen Branton hit the net on the power play tally: 3-1 Clarkson.

The Lady Golden Knights will win the RPI 6-1.

Down the road in Canton, a celebration at Appleton Arena as St. Lawrence and Union.

The game was scoreless with less than 2 seconds left when Julia Gosling slammed home a backhand, putting St. Lawrence up 1-0.

St. Lawrence in the Union with a final score of 1-0.
