Looking to leave home to watch the Titans, Volunteers or Commodores this football season with a few thousand other fans? (Don’t forget the predators.)
Nashville is known for its hard-partying bar scene, but Williamson County gives fans some sports bar options further south. The county’s larger cities, Franklin and Brentwood, offer the widest variety of sports bars, but other parts of the county have places where you’ll never want to see a game alone.
Before introducing the local sports bars, we wanted to discuss what makes a sports bar a cool environment. Think more than just the game on the big screen.
Think finger food. Pizza and chicken are tender for chips and dip and chicken wings. And of course cold beer.

Think about the right level of passion. You want to surround yourself with fans who, for example, support the Titans, continue to root for the local NFL team, even after a sack fumble, punt, interception start to a game.
And think size. While a sports bar doesn’t have to take up an entire block, you’ll find a space big enough to accommodate your crew of Vols and Commodores. Extra points are that the environment is friendly to fans of visiting NFL and college teams.
We will continue to add sports bars to this list. In the meantime, here are some local favorites.
